Colin Lacey's Ideas for Research Topic
When thinking of a research topic, a lot comes to mind, but I will form a paper based around my major, Health and Physical Education. I will try looking at the increasing obesity rate among specific age groups and what is being done about it. I will also analysis how the overweight and obese children of today are effected health wise. I can also illustrate what can be done to prevent this illness and disease from growing and becoming an epidemic. I will focus much of my thought into this topic because this is my major, which will soon hopefully become my career. This is an issue that can not be solved in a short amount of time. It takes much time and dedication over a long period of time, but with the right knowledge and information this crisis can be overcome.

This would be an awesome topic to explore. We were just talking about in my Ed Psych class how students don't get out as much and play outside like they used to. Many kids are sitting in front of a computer screen or video game these days, thats why it is great that video game inventors are being more conscious of this (like making games like wii fitness). It is important as educators to find out more ways to help kids be more interactive inside and outside of the classroom. Growing up in the home with unhealthy lifesyles and choices starts to become habit for these children and this is the way they may continue to live and raise their own children as well. This could be a direct link to the obesity problem in America overall.
